Heart and Soil Garden Co was founded on the belief that there are two main foundations of every thriving garden: intentional stewardship and healthy soil. Our mission is to create living garden ecosystems that restore soil biology, support pollinators and wildlife, produce an abundance of food, and invite people to become active participants in the health of their environment. By working with nature rather than against it, we design, install, and steward beautiful outdoor spaces that can nourish families with food and medicine, strengthen local biodiversity, and inspire a deeper connection to the land.
Every ecosystem has it's own set of complex relationships that have evolved over millions and millions of years to work in harmony. Our logo depicts a sundial lupine (Lupinus perennis subsp. perennis). This important native plant is the only known host of the endangered Karner Blue Butterfly. These types of interdependent relationships are found all throughout our natural world. The soil microorganisms, the native plants, insects, and wildlife in the environment all have their roles in the biological web. These relationships aren't accidental. They are the key to life and they are to be respected, admired, and protected.
